Music Girl

Let the music rescue you;
Flight for life when you’re feeling blue.
On the dark side of the rainbow,
Black’s the only hue.

Take a supernatural starship
To the heavens up above.
Through a lipstick sunset
With the person that you love.

Your music is what carries you
To another place in time;
No one seems to understand,
It’s the lyrics not the rhyme.

Share with me your loneliness,
I’ll help you if I can.
If only I were there with you.
I’d be your Music Man.

I wrote this in 1996 for a friend that used music as an escape from her problems. A companion piece to "You're My Music Girl" [link]
Thanks to " my-stock " [link] for her sheet music image.

Hello. My name is Cassandra Martinez. I am a Composer (music) and I am looking to write a piece to your poems "Music Girl" and "You're My Music Girl". I would like it if I could get permission to write these pieces that will be performed at my Senior Composition Recital. Please email me at: cmarti2008@gmail.com so I know that I have permission to use these. Also, can you let me know the background behind the pieces and your birth year. I really look forward to hearing from you soon. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you.
