"Like a willow in the wind, I have lived my life. Bending to the forces but not breaking. Growing stronger. And now, I stand tall." -- Tom Wilcox
This image was selected for the cover of Grammy winner Mary Youngblood's latest CD, "Dance With the Wind" and is used throughout: [link] .
On February 11, 2007, Mary won her second Grammy Music Award - "Native American Album of the Year" for "Dance With the Wind".
Mary went back to Los Angeles on April 14 to receive the Outstanding Musical Achievement Award for "Dance with the Wind" at a gala ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The evening is hosted by First Americans In The Arts, a prestigious organization based in the Los Angeles area which honors outstanding achievements by Native Americans in the performing arts. Most of the awards relate to film and television, but the one music award went to Mary Youngblood.
Amazing artwork! Love the shapes, the colors and the overall concept. The quote fits perfecty with the picture! I'm starting a group to collect artwork related with Willow Trees. Don't you want to join it?
Thank you very much. Since I only have two willow images it probably doesn't make sense to join but if you request for this and "Willow Weep for Me" to be submitted to your group I would approve that.
